DPA's Governing Body
DPA’s governors play an important role in trying to ensure that every student in the school gets the best possible education.
Governors are required by Law to focus on three core strategic functions:
1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
2. Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, plus the performance management of staff;
3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent and the academy continues to succeed.
The Governing Body are the strategic leaders of the school. The Headteacher with her Senior Leadership Team lead and manage the school on a day-to-day basis.Our Governing Body currently has 6 members in total, which consists of 1 parent, 1 staff, 3 co-opted and 1 Trust Governor. Each governor is a volunteer. Once appointed they will serve for four years, after this time of service they can be re-elected, re-appointed or replaced. here
From September 2021 the Governors adopted ‘The Circle Method’ of six Full Governor meetings a year with a separate Risk & Audit committee that meets three times a year, as statutorily required.
